Ellen Stokes works with clients to identify and help build the human side of their brands. Working in a variety of industries ranging from healthcare, education and hospitality to financial services and manufacturing, Ellen focuses on brand discovery and implementation, strategic marketing and communications.
Prior to her consulting career, Ellen held leadership roles in business development and marketing strategy within the University of Maryland Medical System. Her accomplishments there included implementing technology and sales infrastructure to support new business in a 6-state region, as well as strategic marketing for a $200 million proton treatment center and the re branding of a community hospital.
Ellen is also a pioneer in higher education marketing, creating one of the first marketing groups in the country at Towson University, a major public university in Maryland. There her work spanned brand discovery and management, consumer and business research, digital marketing strategy, integrated marketing and fundraising strategies, sponsorship and even an institutional name change. Ellen and her team were the recipients of numerous CASE and ADDY awards.
Ellen offers a wide perspective from her experience in purpose-driven organizations, developing brands and target markets, and aligning marketing and sales strategies. Blue Crump is an educator, designer, and strategist with expertise in customer experience and creative methodologies. His communication strategies have been applied to organizations ranging from startups attempting to scale, to Fortune 100 companies seeking to build better relationships with their user. He’s the founder of TOPO Labs, a digital products & experience design firm, and currently serves as Chief Experience Officer. His work at Topo Labs focused on using data to tell stories and to shape customer experiences for small and large businesses.
Blue’s work with Genworth Financial helped redefine and shape employee process management across the company. Blue built on those same innovative HR tools by leading a project for the fifth largest utility in the US, Dominion Energy, resulting in cost savings across the organization’s tech management. And most recently, he led the development of a new consumer product for Altria from concept to testing consumer experiences, to launch. Across multiple platforms and various applications, Blue has extensive time helping clients realize their goals through a better understanding of their customer’s needs
Blue is also an Adjunct Instructor at the VCUarts Center for the Creative Economy and the University of Richmond where he teaches courses in design thinking, innovation, and creative disruption. His work has been recognized by Google Ventures and he frequently lectures on mining for consumer insights, target customer acquisition practices and shaping customer experiences.
